This book includes some ideas for general understanding of "forms" on the standpoint of science, such as crystals, flows, heat conductions and biological systems. Although the topics are collected from various fields, they are sorted according to an organized manner, such as "Properties of space", "Mechanism of pattern formation" and "Nonlinear phenomena". Now, we have three fundamental concepts for understanding natural phenomena, i.e. number, forms of objects and information. The number and the information are treated in the mathematics and informatics, respectively, while we have no general field to investigate forms in the nature; note that the geometry refers only to a limited aspect of forms. This book proposes a unified way to understand natural phenomena from various scientific fields. In this way he proposes a new fields "Science of Forms" as a culture for scientists.
